We’ve enjoyed (and endured!) sweltering heat, only to be hit with what seems like endless rain. Meanwhile, we’ve been busy as ever, helping you to manage your wealth so you can live your dream lifestyle.
We’ve also received confirmation of the date for the government’s Autumn Budget, welcomed a new starter to the Caliber team, and donated more funds to Myeloma UK thanks to your referrals.

The Autumn Budget will be presented on 26 November – here’s how we’ll keep you up to date
As you may have seen in the headlines, chancellor Rachel Reeves will present the Autumn Budget on 26 November, outlining the government’s fiscal plans and priorities.
The landscape has changed significantly since Reeves’ last Budget announcement in October 2024.
At that time, she implemented a range of tax rises – including an increase to employer National Insurance (NI) and outlining plans to bring pensions into the scope of Inheritance Tax (IHT) from April 2027 – to fill the “£22 billion black hole” she said the previous government had left behind.
This year, the deficit is thought to be bigger, totalling around £40 billion. That could mean far-reaching changes, potentially affecting pensions and their tax advantages, Stamp Duty and property taxes, and IHT gifting rules.
On the day, we’ll distribute a mailer and blog directly to your inbox, informing you of any important changes that Reeves announces.
You don’t need to do anything to receive this – as long as you’re on our mailing list, we’ll be in touch to let you know what’s happened and, where possible, give you an idea of what it could mean for you.
We’ll also include an article in our regular October newsletter that explains why it’s so important to stay calm. With plenty of media speculation before the Budget, it’s crucial not to make decisions about your wealth based on what you think may happen.
So, the article will explain why it’s so crucial to keep a level head and not make changes to your finances until we know exactly what Reeves and the government are planning.
If you have any concerns about the Budget in the meantime, please do contact your adviser.
Welcome Louie to the Caliber team
We’d like to introduce you to Louie Linton, our new client manager.
Swapping Tyneside for Bedfordshire, Louie joins us after recently completing his degree in Maths and Economics at Newcastle University.
In his role, Louie will provide support with queries, help ensure a seamless financial planning experience for clients, and provide wider administrative support across the business.
You’ll likely speak to Louie as he settles into life here at Caliber and his new role, and he’ll be busy getting to know our clients so he can help with managing your financial plan. So, if you do have any contact with him, please say hello and welcome him to Caliber.
Welcome, Louie – we’re really pleased to have you on the team!
Your 48 charity referrals so far in 2025 have raised £2,400 for Myeloma UK
The past quarter has again been hugely positive for our charity referral scheme. Between June and September, we received 17 referrals, adding another £850 to our total donations for this year.
As many of you know, our founder, Roger Yates, sadly passed away in 2019 after being diagnosed with the incurable blood cancer, myeloma. That’s why we work closely with Myeloma UK, the only charity in the UK that focuses on myeloma and its related condition.
When you refer friends or family to us, we donate £50 to Myeloma UK. In 2025 to date, we’ve had 48 referrals, meaning we’ll donate £2,400 to Myeloma UK.
Thank you to everyone who has referred their friends and family to us. Those referrals not only help your nearest and dearest to achieve their financial targets, but they also help us make a difference to those with myeloma, as well as their families.
Please do refer anyone you know who may benefit from our services to us, so they can benefit from the peace of mind and financial security you enjoy.
