Your summer update from Caliber Financial Management
Welcome to your sunny summer update from Caliber Financial Management. Join us as we take a look at key events from inside and outside the business that matter to you and your personal finances.
A volatile first half of 2026, high demand for Inheritance Tax advice, and our new Ampthill office
The first half of 2026 witnessed a sustained period of uncertainty due to the outbreak of war in Iran, which caused a humanitarian crisis in the Middle East and unsettled global markets, pushing energy prices sharply higher for a time.
Encouragingly, things have since settled: the framework peace agreement signed in June has reduced hostilities and threats to civilian life, oil prices have fallen, and markets steadied.
Closer to home, we’ve seen a notable uptick in Inheritance Tax (IHT) enquiries – unsurprising, given frozen allowances and the upcoming change that brings unused pensions into the scope of IHT from April 2027. If your plans could be affected, it’s well worth a conversation.
We’re also delighted to have settled into our new office at First Floor, 5 Doolittle Yard in Ampthill, and we’d be glad to welcome you there.
We’ve raised £1,850 for Myeloma UK thanks to your 37 referrals
We’re proud to say that, thanks to your referrals, we have managed to raise £1,850 for Myeloma UK in 2026.
We launched our charity referral scheme in honour of our founder, Roger Yates, who sadly passed away from the disease in 2019. This means that, for every new client you refer to us, we donate £50 to Myeloma UK – the UK’s only dedicated myeloma charity.
Since we first started the scheme, we have donated £18,600 to help fund research to find a cure.
From all of us at Caliber, we extend our enormous and heartfelt thanks to everyone who has referred a new client to us so we can continue to deliver financial planning solutions while donating funds to a just cause.
And if you know of anyone who you think might benefit from our services, please don’t hesitate to put them in touch with a Caliber financial adviser.
